High Efficiency Gas Furnace Services
Heating is one of the largest energy expenses in Utah homes, and gas furnaces are the most popular heating system. The type of furnace you own can greatly impact how much you spend. Not only install, repair, maintain, and replace furnaces, we’ll also help you select the best furnace for your unique needs. Here are some things to consider when selecting your next gas furnace:
Fuel Efficiency – The Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) is a measure of how efficient a furnace is in converting energy from fuel to heat. For example, a furnace with an AFUE of 98%, will result in 98% conversion of energy to heat, with a loss of only 2%. Two-stage, variable speed, and modulating furnaces are the most fuel efficient.
Furnace Size – A properly sized furnace will match the heat load requirement of your home. Generally, the larger the home, the larger the furnace must be. To ensure optimal performance and comfort, the furnace size should be based on professional calculations.
Capacity – To what capacity does a furnace operate? A single stage furnace will operate at 100% capacity, regardless of outdoor temperatures. A two stage furnace has a lower stage (about 60% of capacity) for mild outdoor temperatures and a higher stage (about 100% of capacity) for colder outdoor temperatures. A modulating furnace is most responsive, with a lowest setting at about 35% of capacity upto 100% capacity, and everything in between.
Variable Speed – Available in two-stage and modulating furnaces, variable speed motors result in quieter performance, increased air flow, and improved temperature distribution.
Warranty Policy – Consider the length of time, what is covered, and any guarantees.
